Healthy Diet

One of the biggest challenges in today’s information-saturated world is figuring out what is actually healthy. For example, one day you will see a million TikTokers claiming that eggs are the worst food ever created, and the next, just as many calling them the ultimate superfood. So, who should you believe?

The million dollar answer is this: believe yourself. It really is that simple. Trust your own body. Not everyone reacts to food in the same way.

A helpful tip is to keep a food journal. Write down the foods that make you feel good, and those that do not. Just be mindful of foods that only taste good. Food companies are experts at making things taste amazing, but that does not always mean they are good for you.

Here are a few solid principles that, if followed, can truly support your health journey:

When we eat food as nature intended, we invariably keep our ingredients singular, when you grow a carrot, you get a carrot, when you purchase 2 minute noodles you get 10+ ingredients and that’s the noodles only, the taste maker will contain many more!

Get enough fibre – try from natural sources.
Avoid sugars especially refined and add sugars
Read labels and again count chemicals and calories. Chemicals include: artificial flavourings, colourants, sweeteners, self-life extenders, flavour enhancers, texture improvers and so on. How do we know chemicals – the are numbers or words you can’t pronounce.
Get good quality water, filtered or natural, never use tap or purified water (stripped of minerals and all micro-nutrients).

Human beings are designed to be active, so getting regularly daily exercise in is so important. Find something you enjoy. This will have the knock on effect of less sitting and less screen time.

Good Quality Sleep
